I had a few minutes to spare so I checked the blog log and had a look at what search engine terms brought people to the blog today. There were a large number of searches with the expected terms… 5S, lean manufacturing, and the like. But some of them were a little off the wall… and made me wonder why the visitor clicked and what they might have learned when they arrived. For example (hey it’s Friday, we need to lighten up a bit , and it’s apparent we need to help Bill transition into his Lenten resolution!)…
- GM Ford manure – I hope they were looking for information on GM and Ford efforts to develop biofuel cars, but who knows…?
- relative IQ politicians lawyers executives Jesus – ok, I could probably guess at the answer…
- bob sled speed records – did they learn about the waste of moving slowly?
- personnel waste removal containers – I hope they meant "personal", otherwise that is one company I don’t want to work for!
- how to be lazy at work with a union – no comment
- body fluids clog plumbing – I hope this person isn’t one of my neighbors!
- low tuition scottish universities – perhaps they learned from Bill that low tuition and good football makes a great university!
- email contacts of locomotive engineers in western India – sorry, can’t say I know of any
- if mohammad won’t come to the mountain – …then maybe he’ll rescue GM?
- dog catcher uniforms – nope, we don’t sell those
- perfume counter person course – someone looking for a new challenge…
- financial environmentalism – too deep for me
- Fasanella + Smalley – Sorry Art, Kathleen’s taken!
- getting square – beats getting round
- pink flamingo repository – try south Florida
- poor dental hygiene Waterpik – a foreign-made solution for bad breath…
- a clue from space – probably the next place GM and Ford execs will look for a turnaround solution, instead of in their own backyard of Georgetown, Kentucky
- aerial bombardment Canada – perhaps what will happen if the military invasion of Detroit misses its mark
- starbucks eucalyptus oil – I’ll have a grande eucalyptus frappuchino please…
Not bad for a day, and I should probably blame Bill’s colorful language for some of these. Perhaps indirectly we’re educating some people about the wonders of lean.
