Kathleen Fasanella over at Fashion Incubator sent me the following video in response my post this morning on Bashing Suppliers Into Submission. She's right, it really is a priceless two minutes that demonstrates the idiocies of traditional customer-supplier relationships! I've already sent it to one of my customers to "set the foundation for next year's contract negotiations."

Just imagine that people really do this and then you recognize, this is real.
A while ago I went with a colleague to a famout bratwurst stand in our city. One customer required 2 Bratwurst on one plate (cardboard plates usually for each one). The woman behind the counter asked why and he told her that she has less effort. She answered that she would still charge him regular price for 2 Bratwurst and he did not agree, since she would have less material cost. It’s hard to believe but he wanted to get a discount on the full charge which would be 3,20 Euros. She dit not give him one cent. And he asked, why she did not want to negotiate ;-) They are among us
