Five years ago I, and two good friends of mine, began what’s turned out to be an incredible journey.

Specifically, in March of 2009 Gemba Academy was born.  We had no way of knowing whether there would be interest in what we were doing… but we started nonetheless.  We wanted to create an easy and affordable way to deliver high quality lean training to the masses.

Now, here we are five years later, with over 500 lean and six sigma training videos used by over 2,000 companies around the world.

Growing Up

We’ve made many mistakes over the years, but we’ve taken the opportunity to learn from them.  We do our very best to practice what we preach… when we make a mistake we learn from it and try to understand the “why” before jumping at the easiest fix.  We try to do the same with successes.

In other words, we’re constantly doing our best to practice continuous improvement!

I know there are all kinds of statistics out there regarding how many companies fail to succeed after a year or two. I don’t know how much of that is true… nor do I really care.  But it’s been five years…!  And we feel like there’s even more opportunity today than there was the day we started.

I’m thankful for the success, but also thankful for incredible business partners and an even more amazing team.

But, most importantly, I’m thankful for current and past customers of Gemba Academy. We’d obviously not be around without you.  It is very fulfilling helping others learn, and gratifying seeing the success they then create.
